How To Be A Hair Influencer

This article will discuss how to be a hair influencer and make your own fashion/beauty/fashion blog.
You have probably heard of the term "influencer" by now. Perhaps you use it to describe a particular brand or a lifestyle.
This has been true for centuries, and it's still true now.
According to the International Association of Fashion and Image Makers (IAFILM), more than 16 million people around the world are considered an influencer on a global scale. By doing things such as commenting on posts or selfies, having a following, or just being well-known for their looks, people start to follow them.
Being a fashion blogger has become more and more popular. No longer do people only aspire to be singers or actresses.
The "Instagram generation" is moving into the spotlight by featuring their looks and lifestyle on social media. In addition, people are beginning to embrace the world of fashion blogging, specifically, how you can be a hair influencer.
This can be a fun and exciting adventure for all involved, especially if you have a unique hair type, style, or color. If you have a look or style that you know would be a great fit for your audience, it's time to get started.
How to become an hair influencer
There are a lot of ways to start your own fashion blog that have to do with your hair. For example, you can post pictures of your hair, get blog topics from trending topics, or you can follow trends and submit them to Instagram and make a tutorial on how to style it.
There is a range of possibilities here, so let's talk a bit about it.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Adam Emmett, known as Emmett Studio & Co. he’s a hair artist who’s studied under the pros, studied under countless other artists to become a master, and has multiple successful YouTube channels with over 10 million views combined.
Vibes: It’s been more than two years that you’ve been online. How has your brand evolved over this time?
Emmett: I started off focusing on hair extensions and told my story of falling in love with them in college and how they allowed me to get through a really hard time in my life. I focused on getting my clients happy and the community which is now a huge part of my brand, and we’ve expanded to so many different types of hair and different salons around the country.
We have what we call our Barbershop Sessions where we invite guests from different salons into our studio and give them a 15-minute head buzz with high-speed plates. We just expanded this again in April and it’s called The Barber Shop Revival.
Vibes: How does it all work?
Emmett: It really does involve a number of things, depending on the salon, the stylist, and the attendees. I basically book it out for about a month before it’s going to happen so we have a full year of these things happening.
The guests pay for the experience and in the studio and they get to go in and we give them hair buzzes and styles, usually for around $150–200. But then we also do make our way into the hair buzzers where we teach them how to do some buzzes.
People who are getting their hair buzzed know what they’re getting themselves into. They know what we’re trying to do to help them grow their own business.
Vibes: So your love for extensions really came about while in college?
Emmett: After getting involved with hair extensions, I went on to continue to branch out into different extensions. I started traveling to LA and Las Vegas and met the people who were working in the industry on those shows and I learned about that world.
I went on to take a job with a hairdresser in LA who opened his own salon in the city and I started as a stylist there.
I learned a lot from him. I got a lot of practice there. After a while, I found my way to New York and started teaching at Allure School of Beauty and he ended up being a big influence in the way I do hair now.
He taught me a lot.
Whether you have no idea what you are doing, or you have years of experience with styling hair, there are a lot of bloggers out there with advice for you.
They can help you discover your niche, find other hairstyle inspirations, and share tips on the hair-related things that they themselves have learned. They can teach you new techniques and style that you can't find anywhere else.
Find a hair inspiration
Choose a hairdo or hair color you really like. When it comes to your hair coloring, there's a lot of choices out there. From the most popular pink to red to blond to platinum blonde, there are so many options. But there is a limit to what you can achieve with such a type of hair color.
Do a photo shoot to show the world how amazing your hair is, show it off, and you'll grow in confidence and start to gain more followers. You'll likely pick up some tips and tricks to improve your own hair so you can keep looking fabulous.
Style your hair
You have to style your hair when you know what it should look like, so it'll look good in pictures. So you can start by either getting a haircut to maintain the style you have or if you have a natural coily look, you can style it up and down or leave it naturally curly if you have a long or short style.
While styling your hair, you also have to think about what the people watching you will see in your hair. You can wear it straight or style it like you want with bangs and volume, but it will look boring and dull if you only style your hair like it is.
It's great to let it flow freely and hang naturally so that you can go for more of a natural look or a gothic look with purple or blue hues.
Be yourself
Being an influencer is all about being yourself, and that's the best way to show off the uniqueness of your hair, so go out and explore different hairstyles or style your hair with what you love to wear. If you're going to wear the same style every time, you'll eventually lose your appeal and followers will drift away from you.
So embrace your hair, love it, and show off it to the world!
